HELP where HELP IS NEEDED

Who are we?

The Helicopter Emergency Landing Pad Appeal (HELP) was set up to raise the funds necessary to construct helipad facilities at hospitals throughout the UK, to help in the transfer of critically ill or injured patients.

Secondary transfers from helicopters to road ambulances take valuable time that can be saved with proper helipad facilities.

The HELP appeal is part of an ongoing programme to raise funds needed to construct or update existing helipads around the country and ensure that all A & E hospitals have suitable helipad access in place for helicopters to land and provide the safe transfer of patients to the admissions area.

HELP is organised and co-ordinated by the County Air Ambulance Trust, a charity that does not receive any help at all from Government or National Lottery funds.

Why help us?

In an emergency airlift every second of every minute counts for serious accidents or medical emergencies and the first hour of any incident is critical.

It could be someone involved in a bad road pile up, a child with severe burns or a construction worker who has fallen off a high building. In situations like these, immediate medical attention makes all the difference.

  • We have the air ambulances
  • We have the hospital
  • All we are missing are the helipads
